Bowls / Lacquerware and Lacquerware from the Johoji Lacquerware Crafts Association

  • ¥7,480 (Tax included.)
    Unit price per

Lacquer, which is also known as "Japan" lacquer, is nowadays almost entirely made from foreign materials, and the Tohoku region is the only region that can support a small amount of domestic lacquer.

The price varies depending on the size.

The soft feel of the mouth, the warmth of the wood that blends well in the hand, and the resistance to heat transfer make lacquerware easy to handle even when hot items are placed in it.

The simple and robust Joboji lacquerware is a "vessel for daily life" that gains luster with each use, and can be repaired and repainted to continue to be used for generations to come.
