Stole ITO / Contrast

Oriza, a workshop in Imabari City, Ehime Prefecture, collected low-speed looms made in the early Showa period from all over Japan, dismantled, restored, and improved them, and completed the world's only original loom, "one-row loom on a kimono length". Contrasts appear as opposite color schemes on the front and back sides of the loom.

The "day and night weaving" technique, in which patterns appear in opposite color schemes on the front and back sides, beautifully expresses "objects and contrasts" with two colors of threads. You can enjoy the unexpected difference in color scheme in a reversible way.
