fava" means "bean" in Italian. This rattle is designed with three beans in the tassel. This is a finely crafted, high-quality wooden toy that can be held, shaken, and played with on a desk or the floor to enjoy the movement and sound of the beans.

All Mastro Geppetto toys are manufactured in the Minamiaizu region of Fukushima Prefecture. As the birthplace of "akabeko" and "kakigake koboushi," local toys have long been made in this region. This is a new brand born in this region, which has a strong foundation of toy tradition and history. In the planning and development of our products, we have adopted sophisticated designs that can be played with for a long time and have interior design and communicative power, and we have made them safe and of high quality with high domestic technical capabilities. In terms of design, eight items (four series) have received the Good Design Award. We work with designers, illustrators, artists, braided wood artists, and other creators with diverse talents to plan from product ideas.

■Wood used for toys is selected during product development to take advantage of the "warmth, texture, color, weight, aroma, and sound" characteristics of each tree. Maple is used for rattles and building blocks. The transparent surface of the wood is silky to the touch, and the high specific gravity of the wood prevents it from falling off or cracking even if a baby chews on it. Mastro Geppetto's wood is made from scrap wood left over from furniture production in the woodworking industry, and is used as much as possible from an ecological point of view. The plywood is made from Ecosila plywood, which is made from thinned birch wood from Hokkaido.
