Place, hang, and carry. The Japanese paper is waterproofed, making it a versatile chochin that can be used indoors or outdoors; the dim light of LEDs and the warmth and handmade gentleness of Japanese paper also make it a beautiful objet d'art.

Suzuki Mohei Shoten in Mito City, Ibaraki Prefecture, has a 150-year history of making chochin, and offers a proposal for "a life with chochin" with the hope of conveying to the world at large the charm of chochin, which still live on as a beautiful traditional Japanese craft. We see chochin, a traditional Japanese craft, as an old and new interior lighting fixture and aesthetic objet d'art, and hope that they can be a small but sure help in people's lives as a light of hope that shines brightly from the present day into the future.

■Because there are no pillars, you can enjoy its free form and use it in any way you like, such as placing it, hanging it up, or taking it out.

LED bulbs are used for long life and power saving.

The Japanese paper is waterproof, so it can be used in places where it will be exposed to water or outdoors.

Since it has no pillars and can be folded thinly, it takes up little space when stored.
