The fabric is made of recycled wool from Bishu, a woolen textile producer. The fabric is made into a "shape" that is easy to put on and take off.

MONPE" is a project to convey the comfort and workability of "MONPE", which was popular as agricultural work clothes, by converting it to suit the modern age, without forgetting its comfort.

■Bishu Sugi Twill Weaving

MONPE is a collaboration with the textile brand "Keshichi" of Oshika Co. in Ichinomiya City, Aichi Prefecture. As one of the world's three major wool textile production areas, blessed with soft water suitable for dyeing and finishing processes of yarns and fabrics, textile production has been practiced since the Nara period (710-794). Woolen fabrics used for suits, coats, and other fabrics are actively produced here.Cedar twill weave (herringbone) is a weave pattern that looks like a series of diagonal lines on the right and left sides of a cedar leaf. The pattern is expressed by alternating right and left twill weave.The back side that touches the skin is brushed, which contains air and keeps heat in, making it warm and comfortable to wear.

MONPE" was set around as farm work clothes, and its shape was a loose-fitting silhouette with a large hips. Eel Bedding developed a simple design by unraveling antiques and kimonos that were used as manure by local people to save cloth and taking into consideration the width of about 36 cm (kimono length), resulting in the "This is the standard MONPE in the modern age" with the functionality of the monpe intact.
