Ceramic Dolls: Year of the Snake Oriental Zodiac Signs - Taru to Mitaru/Good Job!
In Japan, since ancient times, the snake has been regarded as the god of water that protects rice paddies, and the eye (me) of the snake (also known as "ga") is said to be one of the origins of the word "kagami" (mirror).
Kagami is also believed to be sacred, and people have wished for good fortune by opening barrel lids and mirror cakes as if they were mirrors. In "Tarukaramitaru," a snake opens the lid and peeks its head out, bringing abundance.
The Oriental Zodiac Dolls are a series of original local toys designed with illustrations by people with disabilities. The dolls are made by incorporating 3D modeling technology into the prototype production process and utilizing the special skills of people with disabilities in almost every step of the production process.
Good Job! Project
The Good Job! Project is a project that promotes new ways of work that are being created by people with disabilities and their surrounding communities, transcending the boundaries of art, design, technology, welfare, etc., through exhibitions, seminars, websites, and other means.
