The " Kaeshi" (rim) is not just a design feature.
The "Kaeshi" at the mouth of the glass is not just a design feature. The glass rim's angle of contact with the mouth is a reflexive gauge of when to start inhaling to drink. The "Kaeshi" on the glass is intended to slightly accelerate this timing.
This allows the air to mix with the wine in the mouth and the aroma to be perceived as more mellow.
Beautifully crafted stem
The long, slender stem (leg) is made possible only by handcrafting. The stem of the puller leg type requires a high level of skill. By stretching the glass material from the bowl to make the legs, there is no seam between the bowl and the legs, resulting in a beautiful glass.
Easy-to-handle height
We designed this product to be easy to fit into common Japanese storage and to be at a height that does not interfere with the line of sight at the dining table.
