Low Vision Experience Kit

  • ¥1,200 (Tax included.)
    Unit price per

This is an educational tool that allows users to simulate the various "visual difficulties" of "low vision," which is said to account for 80% of all visual impairments. Three types of glasses (low contrast, narrowing of the visual field, and central dark spot) that can be easily assembled, and a leaflet that allows comparison of vision, promote understanding of visual impairment and consideration for accessibility.

Low Contrast"
simulates a state in which the eyes are clouded and it is impossible to grasp the outlines of objects or differences in shades of gray. The eyes appear foggy and blurred, making it difficult to recognize fine print, facial expressions, traffic signs, etc.

Narrowing of the visual field"
simulates a state in which the center of the eye is visible but peripheral vision is absent. The range of vision is limited, making it difficult to see the entire picture, read long or large text, or check the periphery when walking.

Center Darkening
This pseudo-reproduces a state in which the center of the visual field is not visible and appears as if there is a black dot. Because the center of the field of vision is obscured, the patient has difficulty recognizing letters, fine details, obstacles, and steps when walking.
