Founded in 1924, Maruto Hasegawa Kosakusho has grown up in the tradition of local blacksmithing. Sanjo City in Niigata Prefecture has been a major production center of metal products in Japan since the Edo period. Its cutlery, in particular, is known for its high quality and is now recognized overseas as the "Sanjo Japan Brand. This tradition of cutlery manufacturing has been passed down through the generations in Maruto Hasegawa.
