MONPE" is a project to transform the "monpe", which was popular as farm work clothes, to fit the modern age while taking advantage of its comfort and workability. Starting with Kurume Kasuri from Fukuoka Prefecture, the project has now spread to textiles from many regions.

Enshu Corduroy Stretch

This monpe is made of corduroy fabric woven in the eastern region of Enshu, Shizuoka Prefecture (Tenryusha textile production area), which boasts more than 95% of the national corduroy market share. The warp yarns are woven in a pile shape and cut to create a ridged texture, and the 4% polyurethane blend provides stretch.

Japanese jeans "MONPE

The "monpe," which took root after World War II as farm work clothes, had a loose silhouette with a large buttock area. Eel Bedding developed this product in response to requests from local people who wanted to make monpe using fabrics from antiques and kimono that they had left in their wardrobes. While saving cloth, the monpe was designed to be simple, taking advantage of its width of about 36 cm (kimono length), and as a result, a slim "monpe" was born with the functionality of a monpe intact. This is the standard MONPE of today.
