Firm and soft "chino pants" like MONPE

Kurume Kasuri, which has been woven for over 200 years in the Chikugo region of southern Fukuoka Prefecture, is characterized by its "light and soft" texture, and the MONPE chino type was created with the idea of expressing a more "firm and soft" feel.

The fabric is denser and has a bouncier texture than regular Kurume-gasuri, so it can be worn as formal or casual as "chino pants," regardless of the occasion. The softness of the fabric also makes it possible to enjoy its texture as it is used more and more.

Not just "light, cool, and soft

Kurume Kasuri is becoming more and more popular as a "light, cool, and soft" textile. On the other hand, we have developed with Kubo Kasuri Orimono a fabric with a different texture that can be enjoyed even in the chilly autumn and winter seasons. Each Kurume Kasuri weaver is constantly exploring the possibilities of "weaving" textures, so you can enjoy the diversity of fabrics.

Japanese Jeans "MONPE

The "monpe" was established after World War II as farm work clothes, and its shape was large around the hips and had a loose silhouette. Eel Bedding developed this product in response to requests from local people who wanted to make monpe using fabrics from antiques and kimono that they had left in their wardrobes. While saving cloth, the monpe was designed to be simple, taking advantage of its width of about 36 cm (kimono length), and as a result, a slim "monpe" was born with the functionality of a monpe intact. This is the standard MONPE of today.
