What is the Tsubame-Sanjo Industrial Festival?
The Tsubame-Sanjo Factory Festival is a factory tour event that has been held since 2013, allowing visitors to experience the manufacturing sites of Tsubame-Sanjo's metalworking and other facilities as they are. It is a joint effort by the public and private sectors to improve various problems such as the lack of successors to craftspeople and the closure of businesses, and to pass on the fire of Tsubame-Sanjo's manufacturing tradition to the next generation.

Founded in 1924, Maruto Hasegawa Kosakusho has grown up in the tradition of local blacksmithing. Sanjo City in Niigata Prefecture has been a major production center of metal products in Japan since the Edo period. Its cutlery, in particular, is known for its high quality and is now recognized overseas as the "Sanjo Japan Brand. This tradition of cutlery manufacturing has been passed down from generation to generation in Maruto Hasegawa.
