Echizen hammered cutlery in Fukui Prefecture has a 700-year history of traditional craftsmanship, and in 1979 was the first cutlery production area in Japan to be designated a national traditional craft. Ryusen Knives pursues not only "sharpness" but also "beauty" and "user-friendliness" on a daily basis.
The beautiful "Ryusen-ring" pattern appears on the entire surface of the blade by forging and polishing 70 layers of Damascus steel using Ryusen Knives' unique forging technology.
The delicate Damascus pattern named "Ryusen-ring" is not merely a decorative feature, but is also an inevitable pattern resulting from the function of increasing sharpness by creating micron-level irregularities on the surface. The blades are forged by skilled craftsmen and have both ultimate functionality and a graceful, beautiful pattern.
The thickness of the Ricorne blade is adjusted in tenths of a millimeter to match the thickness of the aluminum that is sandwiched between the two sides of the blade. In the limited space of only 2 cm in blade length, skilled craftsmen use their many years of experience and technology to specially cut each blade to a sharp edge. We hope you will experience the innovative design and comfortable sharpness never seen before.
The leather case for the Ricorne LR01 is made of male Japanese Holstein leather from the Hokkaido and Tohoku regions, which is used for high-end sofas and other products. Male cowhide has dense fibers, little expansion and contraction, and a soft texture. The more you use the leather, the more it becomes comfortable in your hand and the softer the surface becomes, which is a characteristic of genuine leather products made of natural materials. The leather is finished with pigments in Himeji, Hyogo Prefecture, and sewn in Echizen City, Fukui Prefecture. This genuine leather case is made in Japan and finished with great care.
The ebony model case is made of Tochigi leather (cowhide and cowhide). The leather is slowly tanned and has excellent durability, and the fine texture and unique color and luster of the original leather make it a deeply tasted leather.
