Japanese Jeans "MONPE
The "monpe," which took root after World War II as agricultural work clothes, was a loose-fitting silhouette with a large hips. Eel Bedding developed this product in response to requests from local residents who wanted to make monpe from fabrics they had unwrapped from antiques and kimonos they had been keeping in their wardrobes. While saving cloth, the monpe was designed to be simple, taking advantage of its width of about 36 cm (kimono length), and as a result, a slim "monpe" was born with the functionality of a monpe intact. This is the standard MONPE of today.
As a "type" to compare fabrics
MONPE" is a project to transform and convey the comfort and workability of "monpe," which was popular as farm work clothes, to the modern age while making the best use of them. Starting with Kurume Kasuri from Fukuoka Prefecture, the project has now spread to textiles from many regions.

Fukuyama, Hiroshima Prefecture, which was once the production center of Bingo Kasuri, has developed into one of the leading denim fabric production centers in Japan by mastering rope dyeing, backed by indigo dyeing and cotton textile weaving techniques. Shinohara Textile has been producing original denim fabrics worldwide for 110 years since its first production of kasuri woven fabrics.
Soft and durable stretch denim
The warp yarn is dyed with rope dyeing (a technique in which only the surface of the roped yarn is dyed with indigo), and the weft yarn is woven with unbleached yarn in a twill weave. Shinohara Textile's typical stretchy denim fabric containing Tencel yarn is used.
While the fabric is firm, it is stretchy and easy to wear, and you can also enjoy the unique denim change over time.
