Soba-Inokuchi / Odate Bent Wappa

The wood's heat-insulating property keeps soba-douyu (buckwheat sauce) from becoming wet and condensation from forming, and the world's first conical shape makes it stackable and easy to store.

Founded in 1874, Kurihisa is a long-established company representing Odate bent-wood. Mr. Shunji Kurimori is the sixth generation.
He was the first in Akita Prefecture to win the Good Design Award for his "Kaku-bon" (square tray). Since then, he has won Good Design Awards for 17 other bent-wood products.
He is a traditional craftsman certified by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, a master craftsman of Akita, and a master craftsman of our time.
