Sumida Modern
Sumida-ku, located in the east of Tokyo, is a manufacturing town with a variety of small and medium-sized enterprises that have inherited the traditional handcraftsmanship of the Edo period.
Sumida Modern" is a project started in 2010 to discover and certify brands of products and things born in the area that are unique to Sumida with traditions and new proposals, and is an initiative of the "Sumida Regional Brand Strategy" that won the Good Design Award in 2015.
On the occasion of the 10th anniversary, we verified and reconstructed the results, and in 2021, "Sumida Modern" was chosen to represent the Sumida Regional Brand Strategy itself and relaunched as "activities to create future standards through manufacturing and to foster people's happiness.
