Lifelong mags
The texture of ceramic porcelain is created not only by the color but also by the soil and glaze of each region. The same shape is produced at different kilns across Japan, with local production by different craftsmen and a wide selection of textures for the user.
The mug won the 2018 Good Design Award as a mug in the "Lifelong Companion" series, which adds lifetime compensation (with conditions) to replace it with a new one even if it breaks under the principles of "long-lasting connections between people, tools, and craftsmanship," "passing on artisan skills," and "revitalizing local industry."
With the "Lifetime Compensation (with conditions)", broken pieces will be exchanged if sent in a box, and the pieces will be recycled as raw materials, allowing consumers to maintain a lifelong relationship with the craftsman through the mug.
