Kurume Kasuri

[Kurume Kasuri is a traditional fabric from the Chikugo region. Many MONPE products are made from Kurume Kasuri, a soft and durable cotton fabric with a texture that is as close to hand-woven as possible using traditional looms.

Kokuraori

Kokuraori has been woven since the early Edo period (1603-1868) in the Toyomae Kokura domain (Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture) for use in hakama and obi belts, etc. The warp threads are used frequently to create a rhythm of colors, and the warp stripes have a three-dimensional feel.
