Japan's last lunisolar calendar (in use from 1844 to 1872)

Founded in 1874, Odate Bagewappa is a long-established company representing Odate bent-wood. The sixth generation, Shunji Kurimori, was the first in Akita Prefecture to receive the Good Design Award in 1968 for his "Kaku-bon" (square tray), and has since produced many other award-winning products. He is a traditional craftsman certified by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, a master craftsman of Akita, and a master craftsman of our time.

In order to make the products easier to use in modern life, he developed tableware that can be molded into a mortar shape and stacked, in response to the voices of people who were having trouble storing them. The modern shape of the bowls, which are made with the Japanese beauty of the straight and beautiful vertical grain, is gaining popularity.
